I swore in as a Peace Corps volunteer in April 2019. My position is within the education sector and my projects revolve around teaching English, leadership, and life skills. I am placed in the province of Coclé in a semi-rural site and work in a school for Pre-K through 12th grades. Tropical and mountainous, my community is only about three hours from the bustling metropolis of Panamá City.

My service was supposed to close in May 2021. However, I was evacuated along with 7,000+ other Peace Corps Volunteers all around the world in March 2020 due to COVID-19. I am grateful for my year in service and hope to return to Panama someday.
